Family Getaway | The Outer Banks
It’s not very often that we are able to get away and go on vacation so any time an excuse comes up we jump at the chance! This time it was Kristy’s father’s birthday so they had rented a house and invited us along, and seriously, how could you ever turn down a trip to the beach. Leaving the dreary rain soaked richmond we set out for the outer banks and after hours of travel we finally arrived. Now this is probably not a long trip for most 3 hours more or less driving time, but when you have a little one in tow things get more complicated, fortunately the destination was worth the trip!
Most days were filled with sun and we would make it a point to put the cameras down and just soak in the fair weather, and some days were a little overcast and we would spend time in the pool or head out into the water on the Kayaks, and in between all of this I was able to just relax and let the stresses of every day life fade away. What was amazing was the amount I wanted to shoot, I had brought three cameras (the Pentax 67ii, the Hasselblad 500cm, and my digital 5d mk iii), but I didn’t want to put them down because I was finally getting time to capture moments of my family. Some times you just need to get away from everything to find yourselves again, and this trip allowed us to do just that.
